FLOW : April's flow class invites exploration of the body, mind, and spirit by broadening your exposure to a variety of yoga poses and their variations. This class is appropriate for all individuals regardless of yoga experience. Flow is a Vinyasa style class where the movements are connected to each other in a flowing manner, and linking movement with the breath is a primary focus. Beginners are welcome and will be encouraged to pace themselves and focus on sensation versus mastering a physical shape.
SLOW FLOW: This class will provide a combination of healthy alignment and the freedom to play within familiar and new poses. From beginners to seasoned practitioners, this class will help to broaden the range of capabilities & understanding of each person through connection and movement in a slower pace.
GENTLE SOMATIC YOGA :This practice emphasizes mindfulness--sensing, feeling and improving our skills in paying attention. Enjoy a slower, exploratory pace with the goal of understanding your body better. This class centers around a movement "skill", and with gently progressive movement, targets deeper, stabilizing muscles of the body through active range of motion.
Gentle Somatic Yoga incorporates yoga & somatic movements that are slow, mindful and help amplify bodily awareness so it can self-heal. This allows YOU the practitioner to self-correct and permanently release persistent stress-based patterns.
POUND UNPLUGGED -POUND Unplugged is a 45-minute class that balances focused, high-intensity movements with restorative stretches. Chakra Yoga: 7 part series dedicated to healing and balancing the chakra energy centers using the powerful tools of yoga asana, pranayama, meditation & much more!
Chakra Yoga offers an effective blueprint for bringing these energy centers into balance in order to be more at peace and find liberation. During this class, we will practice specific yoga postures that are beneficial for the chakras in combination with positive affirmations, meditation, chanting, breathing exercises, and aromatherapy.
Yin Yoga is a relaxing all-level class. This quiet, grounding practice targets the connective tissues of the body – the fascia, the ligaments and the tendons .Yin Yoga concentrates on the connective tissues of the body, providing gentle pressure and therapeutic stress to encourage regeneration on a cellular level. Postures are held for extended periods of time (usually 3 – 5 minutes) to allow the muscular system to completely relax.
MYOFASCIAL RELEASE & YIN YOGA: Myofascial Release techniques with Yin Yoga postures -Combine these two practices and you end up with a recipe for less tension and more freedom!
April will use Myofascial release techniques to help you unwind stored tension and release restrictive patterns in the body . Yin Yoga postures will release fascia by creating gentle stress in the connective tissues.
SOMATIC Flow and Thai Massage: April's Mindful Level 1 Yoga Flow will be accompanied by Melissa and Dan Mowry's Thai Massage. Thai Massage combines assisted stretching & soft tissue massage. This is a one of a kind experience as the class was created by this team of professionals - uniting our passions to best serve you!
Fierce: A dynamic Vinyasa Yoga class combining somatic movement, cardio, tribal dance & core strengthening. We will sweat, we will move, we will encourage flexibility & build strength all while having fun and releasing trauma- connecting to the sacred feminine. This class welcomes beginners and those with more experience looking to change up their Yoga routine.
HOT STONE RESTORATIVE-Restorative yoga is a healing yoga practice where the body is placed in therapeutic postures that are supported with soft bolsters, blocks and cozy blankets. As you relax in the poses, heated basalt stones are gently placed on the body. The heat from the stones gently penetrates into muscles, melting away layers of physical and emotional tension, resulting in a deep state of relaxation.
Vin/ Yin Yoga- is a marriage of the strong, Vinyasa Yoga with the receptive Yin Yoga.
Active, yet grounding. A Vinyasa flow is offered as the first half of the class and a Yin Yoga sequence as the second half. The Vinyasa portion warms the body up and rids your body of excess Prana, or energy. After which, your body is ready to relax and lengthen during the Yin Yoga portion.
YOGA FIT - Join Shelby and learn how to match movement and breath to help strengthen and stretch the body through a circuit training style class combined with Yoga stretches. You'll be challenged to observe without judgement as you accept where your body and mind are today and release expectations.
REBEL ASHTANGA- Ashtanga yoga is a sequence of yoga postures, performed in a specific order everytime, that emphasize the flow and breath between movements.The yoga positions are preformed with sensory management and self-awareness. The practice not only promotes physical strength, but also a deeper understanding of bodily control and mental discipline. The ideals learned during practice are meant to be applied to everyday life, bringing about a more stable mind and body. This gives students a foundation for a healthy lifestyle.
Beginner Yoga - This class is designed as an introduction to the practice of yoga. Class is slower paced than an all-levels class, and focused on developing foundational postures. Come to learn in a supportive environment. All bodies are welcome. This beginner class introduces the fundamental principles of alignment, and breath work. Students will be introduced to yoga postures through step-by-step verbal description and demonstration. Emphasis is placed on student understanding, safety, and stability within each pose.
